Seating charts are one of the last and most fiddly wedding jobs. Paste your guest list, tell the tool how many tables you have, and it seats everyone in one click while keeping families and friend groups together. Then drag guests between tables (or tap to move them on a phone), watch the seat counts, and print a clean summary for the venue or one page per table for table cards. It works for rehearsal dinners, birthdays, galas, and any event with assigned seating.

There is no account and nothing is uploaded; the chart is saved in your browser. Export the CSV to open it in a spreadsheet or the CSV viewer. If you are the photographer rather than the couple, the photography contract generator drafts your agreement, and the countdown timer keeps the big day in sight. Sewing your own table runners or chair sashes? The sewing fabric calculator works out the yardage.

Frequently asked questions

How do I enter my guest list?

Paste it into the guest list box, one guest per line. Plain names work fine. To keep people together, add a group after a comma, such as "Sam Patel, College friends". To reserve several seats under one name, add a party size after a semicolon, such as "The Nguyens; Party of 4". Lines starting with # are ignored, so you can leave yourself notes. You can copy a column straight out of a spreadsheet or RSVP export, and edits keep everyone's current table as long as the name and group stay the same.

How does auto-assign decide who sits where?

It seats the largest groups first, placing each one at the first table with enough open seats, then fills the gaps with smaller groups and single guests. This first-fit approach keeps families and friend groups together whenever the tables allow. If a group is bigger than any table, it is split across the emptiest tables and you get a note saying so. Guests in the group "Head table" or "Wedding party" go to the head table; everyone else is kept off it. Use "Seat unassigned only" to keep your manual changes.

Can I move guests without a mouse?

Yes. Dragging works on desktop, but every move can also be done by tapping or pressing Enter on a guest, then choosing a table from the menu in the bar above the tables, or pressing the "Seat here" button that appears on each table. This is also the easiest way to rearrange on a phone. Tables show their seat count as you go, and a table with more guests than chairs is highlighted with a warning so you can fix it before printing.

Is my seating chart saved?

Your chart is saved automatically in this browser's local storage on this device, so you can close the tab and come back. Nothing is uploaded to a server and there is no account, which also means it will not appear on your other devices, and clearing your browser data erases it. Download the CSV as a backup, or to open it in a spreadsheet, share it with your venue coordinator, or move it to another computer. The Reset chart button clears the saved copy when you are done.

How many guests fit at a wedding table?

A 60-inch round table seats 8 comfortably and 10 snugly; a 72-inch round seats 10 to 12; an 8-foot banquet table seats 8 to 10 depending on whether you use the ends. Venues often have a fixed number of each, so use "Different sizes" to enter the exact mix, like 10, 10, 8, 12. Leave a seat or two open at a few tables for late RSVP changes, and check the total seat count against your guest count before assigning.
