Starting with iOS 27, the App Store shows two new creative assets: a wide header at the top of your product page and a large image in search results. This tool makes both from one design, at Apple’s exact sizes: the 21:9 header (3840 × 1646), the 3:2 search result (3840 × 2560), and the 16:9 universal image (5244 × 2950) that fills both slots. It can also make In-App Event card and details media. Live crop guides show what survives each placement, and every file exports as an alpha-free PNG that App Store Connect accepts. Everything runs in your browser.

Universal 16:9 · 5244 × 2950
Pre-flight checks
- No problems found in your text, and it contrasts well with the background.
Apple’s other rules for these assets
- Must be suitable for a 4+ age rating, even if your app is rated higher.
- Show the real app — interface, content, or gameplay — not just a logo or slogan.
- Keep the focal point centered; Apple crops differently across devices and orientations.
- Localize text for every language you support.
- No transparency: every file here is exported as an RGB PNG with no alpha channel.
- Crop guides are centered estimates. Apple doesn’t publish its exact crop, so check the product page preview in App Store Connect before you submit.

iOS 27 creative asset sizes at a glance
| Asset | Aspect | Size (px) | Formats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product page header | 21:9 | 3840 × 1646 | JPEG, PNG |
| Search results | 3:2 | 1920 × 1280 to 3840 × 2560 | JPEG, PNG |
| Universal (header + search) | 16:9 | 5244 × 2950 | PNG only |
| In-App Event card | 16:9 | 1920 × 1080 to 3840 × 2160 | JPEG, PNG |
| In-App Event details | 9:16 | 1080 × 1920 to 2160 × 3840 | JPEG, PNG |
Header and search videos use the same sizes. They must be 5 to 30 seconds long at 30 or 60 fps, and they autoplay muted and loop. None of these images can contain an alpha channel. Sizes are from Apple’s creative assets specifications.
Designing one image for two crops
The universal 16:9 image is convenient because you upload it once, but it gets cropped two different ways. The 21:9 header keeps the full width and trims the top and bottom. The 3:2 search image keeps the full height and trims the sides. Only the overlap of the two is safe everywhere, so put your headline, icon, and focal point there and let the background bleed out to the edges. If you want more control, upload the dedicated 21:9 and 3:2 files instead. This tool exports those too, cut from the same design.
Apple’s guidance is short and practical. Focus each asset on one clear idea, show the real app instead of only a logo, keep text brief and localized, and design for someone seeing your app for the first time. Keep pricing, URLs, and award claims out of the artwork.

You still need screenshots for iOS 26 and earlier, and they appear on your product page in every version. Frequently asked questions
What size is the App Store product page header?
Apple’s spec for the iOS 27 product page header is 21:9 at exactly 3840 × 1646 pixels (JPEG or PNG), or a 16:9 universal image at 5244 × 2950 pixels (PNG only). A header can also be a 5–30 second video at the same size, at 30 or 60 fps, as .mov, .m4v, or .mp4.
What size is the App Store search results image?
Search results creative is 3:2, anywhere from 1920 × 1280 up to 3840 × 2560 pixels (JPEG or PNG), or the same 16:9 universal image at 5244 × 2950 (PNG only). This tool exports the maximum, 3840 × 2560, so it stays sharp on every device. If you don’t provide one, the App Store falls back to your In-App Events, app previews, and screenshots.
What is the universal 16:9 asset?
Apple lets you upload one 5244 × 2950 PNG that works for both the product page header and search results. It gets cropped differently in each place: roughly a 21:9 band across the middle for the header and a 3:2 window from the center for search. Anything you want visible everywhere has to sit where those two crops overlap. The crop guides in this tool show that overlap, and the generator keeps your text and icon inside it automatically.
Are the crop guides exactly what Apple shows?
They’re a careful estimate. Apple says to keep the focal point centered within a safe area, but it doesn’t publish its crop coordinates. The guides assume a centered crop to each placement’s aspect ratio, which is the most conservative reading. Always check the product page preview in App Store Connect before you submit.
Why does App Store Connect reject my PNG for having an alpha channel?
Apple’s creative-asset spec says images can’t include alpha channels or transparency, and browsers and most design tools save PNGs with an alpha channel even when every pixel is opaque. Every file this tool exports is encoded as a true RGB PNG with no alpha channel, so it passes that check.
What can’t I put in these images?
Apple’s asset best practices rule out specific prices or discounts, website URLs, copyright symbols, logos or mentions of other platforms and marketplaces, unverifiable awards, and Apple’s own recognitions (Editors’ Choice, App of the Day, Apple Design Award). All assets must suit a 4+ age rating, even if your app is rated higher. The pre-flight panel scans your headline and subhead for these as you type.
Which iOS versions show these assets?
Header and search creative appears on the App Store in iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 and later. Earlier versions keep showing your screenshots and app previews, so you still need those. The App Store Screenshot generator handles them.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Rendering, PNG encoding, and zipping all happen in your browser. Your icon, screenshots, and unreleased artwork never leave your machine.
